"Korean Style BBQ Donburi" bento - 韓国風ステーキ弁当

- りんごとキウイ / Apple and Kiwi

I think this is my husband favorite and surprisingly enough, it's easier and faster to make than sandwiches!

日本の焼肉のたれはなかなか見つからないのですが、韓国の焼肉のたれは簡単に手に入ります。
肉を焼いて切ってソースを絡めるだけです。ブロッコリーは少し茹でて玉ねぎと炒めてソースを絡めました。辛党の夫のためにハバネロのスライスも乗せました。

"Maki Zushi" bento - 巻き寿司弁当

Today's o-bento :

- かっぱ巻き /Cucumber Roll
- カリフォルニア巻き / Californian Roll
- スパイシー海老マヨ＆アボカド巻き /Spicy Mayo Shrimp & Avocado Roll

- いなりずし / Inarizushi

 I tried Spicy Mayo Shrimp & Avocado roll for the first time. It tasted good. I just boiled shrimp in salty boiling water, chopped them, add Chinese chili sauce and Mayo, then rolled it with sliced avocado. Easy, but a little slippery.

ちなみに、いなりの皮は冷凍しておいたものです。

"Hamburger" bento - ハンバーグ弁当

Today's o-bento :
- ハンバーグ / Hamburger

- インゲンのベーコン巻き / Bacon-rolled Green Beans

- ゆでたまご / Boiled Egg

- ゆでブロッコリ / Boiled Broccoli

- ごはん / Rice

- フルーツ / Fruits　（Apple, Kiwi, and Blue Berries)

 

I added miced onion, a little bit of habanero, salt, pepper, and BBQ sauce in Hamburger. I wasn't planning to serve fruits but when my husband just woke up and saw the obento this morning, he said "Only hamburger and bacon? How about fruits? We need to eat more fruits and vegetables." Then he showed me a picture of "food pyramid".

I know, I know, but it was a little sad that he wasn't really happy to see what I made, I guess!

昨日初めてアメリカンスタイルのBBQソースを買ってみたので、焼いた後のお肉に塗りました。
ちなみに、昨日のお昼に、味見を兼ねてごはんの上にアボカドを乗せ、その上にこのBBQソースをかけて食べました。留学時代に食べていた懐かしい味！甘酸っぱい感じです。今度はスペアリブが食べたくなりました！

昨日久しぶりにドライカレーを作りましたが、あんまり美味しくなかった・・・。今まで自分で美味しいのが作れたことがないのですが、コツは何なんでしょう？？母のドライカレーが食べたいなぁ。

 I enjoy cooking using my toaster oven. It's so easy! I use it to grill some fish too!

お古で頂き物のオーブントースターがとても役に立っています。トレイの上にアルミを引いて、その上に肉や魚を乗せて焼くだけで洗い物もなし。

"San Shoku (three-color)" bento - 三色弁当

 Today's o-bento :
- 三色ごはん / Japanese style scrambled egg & ground beef on the rice with Jalapeno
- 炒めミニソーセージ / Pan-fried cocktail sausage
- 塩ゆでブロッコリ / Boiled Broccoli

Usually "three color" means yellow, brown and green and for green color, usually spinach or green beans are used, I think, but since my husband loves spicy food, of course I used jalapeno!

Yellow ceke is for desert! My husband wanted to make yellow cake, but I didn't know what yellow cake was so I checked it on Wikipedia. It says; "Yellowcake (also called urania) is a kind of uranium concentrate powder obtained from leach solutions"
and I was confused!

アメリカのケーキにイエローケーキというものがあるのを聞いたことがありますが、何なのかよく知らなかったので調べて見えると、「ウラン鉱粗製物」の呼び名でもあることを知りました。（見た目が似ているからだとか。）
たまたまスーパーでみつけたイエローケーキのミックス粉を使い、カップケーキを作りました。 そして夫はチョコレートのフロスティングに着色料を混ぜて更に黒っぽくしてウランマークを描きました・・・。
